As a provider of intelligent video management systems for logistics, DIVIS has been supporting Herbert Voigt GmbH & Co. KG in Neumünster since 2003. Over the years, digital solutions for general cargo handling, video surveillance and image-based goods tracking in warehouse logistics and personal access control have been developed in close cooperation. In view of the very successful and fruitful cooperation so far, it was no question for the transport company to test the latest development of our IT specialists from Bordesholm: video surveillance with thermal imaging cameras.
Herbert Voigt GmbH & Co. KG was one of the first logistics service providers to rely on video surveillance to secure their premises and goods traffic as well as video software solutions for tracking goods. As a provider of intelligent video management systems for logistics, DIVIS has been supporting the family business since 2003. The versatility of the DIVIS solutions was quickly recognized at Voigt. Over the years, digital solutions for general cargo handling, video surveillance and image-based goods tracking in warehouse logistics and personal access control have been developed together.
Today the internationally operating forwarding company secures its headquarters in Neumünster, including a 10,000-square-meter transshipment hall and its own fleet of vehicles with the help of video cameras mounted indoors and outdoors on loading gates, house walls and masts. The DIVIS CargoVIS software ensures clear and user-friendly handling of the system.

In view of the very successful and fruitful cooperation so far, it was no question for the transport company to test the latest development of our IT specialists from Bordesholm.
The software module Motion Alarm+ has recently been expanded to include outdoor video surveillance for thermal imaging technology. We have just presented the result to the public at LogiMAT 2019.
The combination of CCTV with thermal imagers allows for a more complete flow of information, providing more security and enhanced anti-theft protection even in the dark and in poor visibility conditions. The technology is particularly well suited to keeping track of all areas, even on large facilities such as the grounds of Herbert Voigt GmbH & Co. KG.
The topic of security convinced Voigt immediately to test the new solution
Above all, it was important for the freight forwarding company that the outside area could be well secured at night and also during the day beyond the operating hours. Unfortunately, the company had to deal with problems such as vandalism and theft in the past. Unauthorized persons gained access to the property and destroyed truck tarpaulins and work materials.
"We chose thermal imaging because we think it is the best way to protect our property against burglary. Although our vehicles are no longer pre-loaded with goods, unfortunately burglars break in anyway, and mostly out of frustration, if they don’t find anything valuable to steal, they slit the tarps of our semi-trailers. As a result, even in the case of failed theft attempts, relevant damage has been done to our material," explains Jörg Gutschlag, Managing Director of Herbert Voigt GmbH & Co. KG.
At the end of July 2018, DIVIS installed a total of 12 thermal imaging cameras in the outside area of the Voigt premises. After just over half a year of testing, the company is drawing their first conclusions of the experiment: Voigt is thrilled with the new surveillance system using thermal imaging cameras. It not only improves the overview, the deterrent factor is also effectively working.
"The porter, who oversees the grounds of our sites at night, receives a targeted and very meaningful warning. That's why we specifically opted for the thermal imaging cameras.
Since we started using the cameras, there have been no attempted burglaries. The cameras make great pictures in which a person is clearly distinguishable from a rabbit. Misunderstandings are excluded," summarizes Jörg Gutschlag.
