Our Plus+ Feature Dimension+
Determine measurement data precisely and quickly with the freight dimensioning technology MetriXFreight
The camera-based technology allows the almost position-independent integration of freight measurement into the cross docking processes.
This means that the area under the ceiling-mounted measuring system does not have to be reserved exclusively for the freight dimensioning system. The measuring system can also be accessed omnidirectionally, i.e. from different directions.
To measure a pallet, the forklift truck with the palletised goods is driven under the measurement station, the pallet is placed briefly and a scan is carried out. Subsequently the forklift can drive on.
The measurement of a single pallet takes a few milliseconds, so that the complete measuring process from setting down to the forklift proceeding is completed within a few seconds. Thus, up to 600 measurements are possible per hour with the freight dimensioning system.
Flexible integration of automatic freight dimensioning into your cross docking processes
The freight measurement system offers various scanning options for assigning measurements to pallets to suit your processes
Every logistics environment has its own process-related requirements. Our Plus+ Feature, Dimension+ , for our video management solution CargoVIS can be flexibly adapted to different preconditions. Therefore, also for the assignment of measurements to pallets, you can choose from different options for data assignment depending on the process.
Option 1: Scan of a measuring station barcode
With this option, the pallet number is scanned directly during the unloading process and the pallet is thus registered in the scanning software. After unloading, the driver of the forklift truck drives directly under the ceiling-mounted measuring unit and scans a barcode placed in the forklift truck or on the measuring unit, thus registering that a measurement is taking place at the measuring station at this time. In this way, the respective measurement data is assigned to the pallet, which makes it possible to trace which pallet has been measured at which measuring station in the case of several measuring stations.
Thanks to the recording of the package number during unloading, this option does not require an additional scan of the pallet. Only the scan of a measuring station barcode is necessary and can be performed without leaving the forklift truck.

Option 2: Inbound scan of the pallet at the measuring station
In this case, the pallet number is scanned directly under the ceiling-mounted freight measurement device during the unloading process. In this way, the pallet is registered in the scanning software and at the same time the collected measurement data is assigned to the package.
Using several measuring stations in the immediate vicinity of the unloading area and eliminating the need for an additional measuring scan saves time and the volume data can be used quickly for subsequent processing.
Option 3: Additional scan of the pallet at the measuring station
With this option, an additional scan of the pallet number is carried out in the measuring area in addition to the scan during unloading. In this way, the measurement data is assigned to the respective pallet.
Depending on the accessibility and visibility of the pallet number, the staff can carry out this additional scan without leaving the forklift in a sitting position or by briefly exiting the forklift.
Additional pallet scanwithout exit
Provided that the pallet number can be conveniently scanned from the forklift, the additional scan of the pallet can be carried out directly from the forklift in a time-saving manner.
Additional pallet scanwith exit
If the pallet number cannot be reached from the forklift, the driver only needs to exit the forklift briefly for the additional scan.
Added value through stronger reputation and profitability
Convincingly fast amortisation of Dimension+ powered by MetriXFreight
The high speed of automatic freight dimensionsing enables the measurement of a large number of palletised goods within a very short time. Reliable volume data for optimising transports and legally relevant measurement data for calculating transport costs are available within seconds.
In addition, attractive purchasing costs for Dimension+ and space-saving integration support rapid amortisation. Furthermore, the cost-efficient purchase and the almost position-independent placeability facilitate the use of several measuring stations in one hall for even more efficiency.
