Logistics company from the Port of Hamburg continues to rely on visual consignment tracking with CargoVIS
DIVIS proves itself in container logistics at Zoder Spedition
Heinrich Zoder Spedition is a member of the general cargo cooperations ELVIS, SIM Cargo and CTL and specialises in container logistics, among other things. Based in the Port of Hamburg, the company offers a comprehensive full service for the transport, logistics, import and export of goods in Germany and throughout Europe.
For many years, the CargoVIS video management system has been supporting the team at Zoder Spedition in Hamburg in successfully driving forward process optimisation - with impressive results. This is why the import-export professionals are now continuing to rely on DIVIS for the system renewal.
Punctuality, speed, safety and excellent service are top priorities at Zoder Spedition in the heart of Hamburg. In 2015, the company therefore decided to optimise its services in adherence to its own strict quality criteria. The aim was to gain a more comprehensive overview of the goods movement and to make customer communication more transparent.
Striving for more transparency, clear transfers of liability and theft prevention
The ideal solution had to be easy to learn and operate for employees and also fulfil essential criteria: Optimising work processes in the approximately 10,000 m² of warehouse space and creating an optimal overview of all goods movements. As Zoder Spedition not only offers transport services but also the storage and order picking of goods, effective theft deterrence and detection in accordance with the company's own strict quality criteria was also important for the freight forwarder.
Last but not least, the planned investment in Hamburg was expected to also result in a more efficient utilisation of the company's resources and thus further contribute to its environmentally friendly orientation.
Many solutions for consignment investigation on the market seemed complicated and not particularly intuitive to the freight forwarder - except for the DIVIS solution. Zoder Spedition was immediately impressed by its easy-to-understand and user-friendly structure when the Hamburg-based company experienced the system live in action at a DIVIS customer.
"The use of CargoVIS has considerably shortened our service processes and relieved our staff. We can answer customer enquiries quickly and reliably."

The strategy proves to be successful: Measurable process optimisation
The enthusiasm of the Hamburg-based freight forwarder transport service provider continued to grow throughout the installation of the solution during ongoing operations. "We are extremely satisfied with our collaboration with DIVIS. We were impressed by the effortless installation of the system, even during our daily business operations," remembers managing partner Alexander Gautzsch.
Zoder Spedition uses CargoVIS with the scan data connection via double scan. A total of 60 cameras record each movement of goods inside and outside the cross dock. The consignments are tracked via a movement path of the goods through the facility, enabling seamless tracking of each shipment through the hall.
After just two years, the CargoVIS solution had already paid for itself through reduced damage costs, clearly documented transfers of liability, resolved thefts and more efficient work processes at Zoder Spedition.
"The software is used by our staff on average 10-15 times a day for consignment investigations and other matters in their daily work," reports Alexander Gautzsch. "The intuitive operation of the software and the area navigation facilitate investigations significantly."
Advantages of the software-based video management system CargoVIS
- Large amount of essential data combined on a single, easy-to-use platform
- Savings in costs, time and resources through process optimisation
- Clearly documented transfers of liability and stronger evidence
- Satisfied customers thanks to optimised service quality
Conclusion
➤ For Heinrich Zoder Spedition, the investment in the CargoVIS solution has paid off.
Alexander Gautzsch summarises: "The use of CargoVIS has considerably shortened our service processes and relieved our staff. We can answer customer enquiries quickly and reliably. Even in the case of rare discrepancies, these can be clearly tracked quickly with the system. Thanks to the effective theft prevention of the video system, our theft rate is close to zero. In these individual cases, the system enables effective clarification and provides convincing evidence."
The managing partner is very optimistic about the current plans for the system renewal: "As a result of the measurable process optimisations through the video solution, there was no doubt that we would continue to work with the experienced DIVIS team and also rely on DIVIS solutions in the future."
