Contactless delivery, for example outside of office hours, is already common in the B2B and overnight delivery business. Triggered by the Coronavirus, it is now also finding its way into deliveries to consumers to protect against infection, with all the advantages and disadvantages.
Since personal reception and confirmation are not possible during contactless deliveries, new ways of generating proof of delivery must be found.
The extent to which contactless delivery may develop into a general trend in B2C business too depends on possible applications and corresponding offers.
At least for the foreseeable future, the risk of infection will continue to play a role in delivery traffic.
