ParcelVIS user report, 360° concept, DIVIS tip of the month and other topics
Bordesholm, June 7, 2020
In our latest user report, we present the Arvato distribution centre in Harsewinkel-Marienfeld today. High goods values are moving through this facility every day. Our ParcelVIS software for image-based package research in the parcel depot now supports Arvato in the seamless documentation of the transfer of risk.
Our 360° concept for parcel depots was among the topics planned to be presented as part of our trade fair appearances this year. The budget-friendly mix of conventional and panoramic cameras is already successfully in use by various DIVIS customers, and the users are very satisfied. That is why today we would like to present you the solution from DIVIS, which not only offers an excellent overview in your hall, but also comes with significant savings on the investment costs for hardware and installation.
In addition to the research functions, there is also a site plan overview available in the CargoVIS and ParcelVIS software, which offers you an excellent overview of your hall aside from shipment research. In our Tip of the Month you can learn more about this software feature today.

Go-live News: ParcelVIS at Arvato – securely documented transfer of risk for high-quality goods
Arvato Distribution GmbH is part of the international Arvato Service Group, which belongs to Bertelsmann SE & Co. KGaA.
In the distribution centre at the Harsewinkel-Marienfeld branch, Arvato provides logistics services for several telecommunications customers. Between 18,000 and 30,000 parcels with high-quality goods from the field of mobile communications, such as mobile devices, accessories and SIM cards, are handed over to the various carriers (GLS, UPS, DHL, DPD) every day.
In order to clearly document the transfer of liability during the loading process and to reliably find any missing packages, the company decided on the ParcelVIS software from DIVIS.

DIVIS 360° concept for parcel depots
Efficiency from every angle
Systems for video management in the warehouse should do one thing above all: see everything.
The "eyes" of such a system are the cameras. When equipping extensive halls, a larger number of cameras with sufficient resolution is often required, which is why usually the hardware and its installation make up a significant part of the investment costs for a video management system.
This cost share can be reduced by the 360° concept developed by DIVIS for parcel research in the ParcelVIS software. The concept uses a mix of different types of cameras. This mix reduces the total hardware required while maintaining a detailed overall view.
DIVIS TIP OF THE MONTH
Site plan overview in CargoVIS and ParcelVIS
Complete overview of your logistics hall or your parcel depot
No site map is required for shipment research in CargoVIS and ParcelVIS. Yet, our software for video management in logistics also helps you to keep the best possible overview beyond the shipment research. A site map can be helpful, for example, if you want to go directly to a certain area (gate, entrepreneur area, entrance area, certain sections of the sorting line, etc.) to take a closer look.
The site plan view integrated in our software for such purposes provides a complete overview of your entire logistics hall or your parcel depot. In this view you can select and view individual areas as needed and you also have an overview of the positions of the cameras installed in the currently activated area.
