2018 IN REAR VIEW
A successful and eventful year 2018 at DIVIS
Review
Innovation is our business: In 2018, DIVIS was awarded funding for a digitization project by WTSH (Wirtschaftsförderung und Technologietransfer Schleswig-Holstein) as the most innovative company. This project is an important milestone towards the future and development of the company.
Projects
More than 100 projects were completed by our engineers, technicians and service employees in 2018 across Germany and Europe in the form of new installations for new customers and important extensions for existing customers. For many systems, our latest plus function Scale+ has been requested. The module allows easy volume control of shipments without direct intervention in the flow of goods and is becoming increasingly popular.
Customers
Not only in Germany and France, but also in the rest of Europe, DIVIS was able to expand its reach and win new customers, which led to a significant jump in sales. A total of 19 European countries were supplied with DIVIS solutions in 2018, for the first time including Ireland. There, the location of a major DIVIS customer was equipped with the CargoVIS system solution in an extensive project.
DIVIS continues to gain trust from medium-sized companies as well. Amm Spedition in Nuremberg now relies on video surveillance with scanner locating (Location+) and subsequent volume calculation (Scale+) by DIVIS.
Krüger, the international freight forwarder, became the 28th ONLINE Systemlogistik customer for DIVIS this year and is now working with the CargoVIS system solution at the location in Göttingen.
New employees
From 52 employees, our team grew by 13 new employees to 65 in 2018. On August 1, four apprentices started their training in marketing and software development.
The other new employees support the areas of marketing, quality management, commissioning & assembly, financial accounting, personnel management and project management.
After Germany, France is our second largest market. In order to ensure the support of our customers in the usual DIVIS standard, we have also reinforced our team for France in 2018 with an additional employee (we presented Mensah Adzessi in our last newsletter).
Events 2018
Our highlight: DIVIS customer event "Kieler Daag" for the Kieler Woche
Last June, 20 customers met with us for the first "Kieler Daag" event hosted by DIVIS. In an idea-packed innovation workshop, we gathered the first concrete approaches for optimization of video surveillance in logistics.
The software specialists at DIVIS have already been working on one of the workshop topics, the automatic license plate recognition. The solution will be presented at LogiMAT next year.
Our debut: job fair Kiel
In October, we had interesting talks with numerous visitors to our booth at the job fair in Kiel and took the opportunity to present the company and our career opportunities to potential junior employees. The variety of trade fair visitors was particularly exciting for us: from young people interested in school internships to experienced software developers looking for new challenges. The well-organized event proved to be the ideal place for an exchange with potential applicants. We will be back again next time.
Another premiere: Tag der Logistik (Logistics Day)
In April we had our first appearance as organizer of the Tag der Logistik.
The event offers interested parties the opportunity to get to know the diverse tasks and opportunities in the field of logistics directly on site at a business. A diverse group of eleven participants visited us, some interested business customers and some private individuals from the region with interest in the industry and in DIVIS.
A lot of positive feedback at the end confirmed what the DIVIS colleagues felt: It was an overall successful day that was fun for everyone.
Outlook: 2019
As we say goodbye to the old year, we already have one foot in the New Year and prepare exciting live performances and new releases for you.
The next opportunity to meet us live is already in February 2019 at the LogiMAT. Amongst other things, we present new products such as automatic license plate recognition and thermal imaging cameras with alarm function.
We will give you more details about our trade show presentation in the upcoming newsletter. Stay tuned.
DIVIS TIP OF THE MONTH
"Quick Trim" in ParcelVIS - Fast time adjustment directly in the filmstrip
ParcelVIS is designed to make your video editing as easy, fast and effective as possible, without detours.
For smaller time adjustments to video recordings of parcels that you can already clearly identify in the preview images, you do not need to fetch those sequences into the video editing area. Thanks to the "Quick Trim" function in ParcelVIS, you can also edit them directly in the preview of the filmstrip.
DIVIS BEHIND THE SCENES
Our colleagues from administration and accounting
Administration and accounting are a necessary part of business activity. At DIVIS, motivated and competent colleagues ensure that every billing and every number is correct.
Meet three female employees today who love handling numbers, Birgit Jantzen, Brigitte Blass and Gaby Langenbacher from DIVIS accounting and administration.
Birgit Jantzen
The tax assistant began her career at DIVIS in 2005 and has since been in charge of payroll and financial accounting. Dealing with numbers and complex legal texts to her is a lot of fun, she says.
Because of her part-time employment, Birgit is not in the house as often as other colleagues. That's why she especially values to be regarded by colleagues as a full member of the team at DIVIS. This support, she emphasizes, accounts for much of her motivation.
The positive atmosphere at DIVIS also has an external effect on customer satisfaction, Birgit says. "The greatest strength of DIVIS is that the company is constantly developing in close partnership with each customer."
Brigitte Blass
Since 2007, Brigitte has been part of the administration at DIVIS, initially working part-time for several years, until she finally switched to full employment in 2016.
Prior to her career at DIVIS, the office clerk gained experience in the accounting department of a tax office, discovering her passion for the responsible work with numbers.
At DIVIS she is responsible for financial accounting, travel expense accounting and various secretarial tasks. Brigitte swears by the familiar working atmosphere, the helpful colleagues and flat hierarchies at DIVIS. She also likes that the company’s philosophy is focused on exceeding customers’ requirements. That, she says, is what creates satisfied customers.
Gaby Langenbacher
The office clerk with well over two decades of professional experience in operational purchasing started in 2015 as a parental leave substitute at DIVIS and has been a permanent member of the DIVIS back office since mid-2017.
Here she takes care of part-time organizational tasks and administratively supports technicians, project managers and other colleagues.
An important part of her work is customer enthusiasm, which she can easily and quickly get to the bottom of with regard to DIVIS: "If the customers basically do not notice that we are doing an installation on site, then we have done everything right."
The atmosphere is also perfect within the company, says Gaby.
"Fair, open and collegial interaction is very important to me," she says, adding: "I am always motivated by the fact that at DIVIS I have found exactly these prerequisites in a great team. Here we all work hand in hand and not against each other."
